Criminal proceedings
A criminal charge can involve immediate concerns about liberty, release conditions, employment, travel, immigration consequences and reputation. The appropriate response depends on the allegation, the evidence and the individual circumstances.
Ranbir Mann represents clients facing Criminal Code and drug-related allegations, including assault, aggravated assault, attempted murder, homicide, firearms offences, sexual assault, human trafficking, impaired and dangerous driving, and other serious charges.
Every matter depends on its own facts. A consultation provides an opportunity to discuss the proceeding and the options that may be available.
From arrest through appeal
The early stages of a criminal proceeding may involve police contact, a bail hearing, release conditions and decisions that affect how the case develops.
The prosecution evidence and the circumstances of the investigation must be examined carefully before advice can be given about available options.
Representation may include motions, Charter applications, witness examination and advocacy in jury or non-jury proceedings.
An appeal requires a focused review of the record, the governing legal principles and the issues that may properly be raised before an appellate court.
